Goju-Ryu has evolved into one of the most widely practiced styles of Karate in the world. From the original students of Chojun Miyagi Ryuso, the art has branched into various organizations (Kai-ha). While techniques and training methods may vary, they all share the fundamental “Hard-Soft” DNA established by the founder.

Below is a categorized directory of major Okinawan and Japanese Goju-Ryu organizations.

I. The “First Generation” Branches

These organizations were founded by the senior-most students of Chojun Miyagi.
